# 13 Public speaking, summer reading
It's been a mad few months since the last one of these. We've edited, we've translated, we've travelled, we've spoken – here's a rundown of some of what we've been getting up to!
Speaking engagements
In May, Alex and Timothy travelled to Belgium after being invited to speak IRL at the University of Liège's Traductologie de plein champ conference. The talk was a big one, clocking in at 40 minutes, and took some extensive online and in-person timed rehearsals to get everything in place.
In the end, the talk – entitled "Navigating Precarity: Innovative Governance and Feminist Economics for Language Workers" – went off without a hitch, and it was a privilege to speak alongside some really interesting speakers. Big thanks to Damien Hansen for chairing our panel, and Valérie Bada for inviting us to speak.

And in late June, Sari and Alex also gave an online talk to students at Mondragón University (world's largest worker coop!), as part of Oihane Amurrio's course on Cooperative Cultural Entrepreneurship. It was a small group, but the talk was well received, with some really interesting, thoughtful questions from the attendees.
Behind the screen
We've been genuinely buried in work for much of the last few months (hence the lack of newsletter). It would be irresponsible to list all of it here, but some big ones have included:
- Article translations for Alliance magazine and Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung.
- Ongoing work translation work on Mathieu Rigouste's "La guerre globale contre les peuples", The global war on people. It's an eye-opening exploration of just how evil Western society is – we'll be promoting this heavily once it's finished so stay tuned.
- Translation work for our longstanding friends at Colaborabora.
We've also had some new Lovework published, including an interview with Farid Othman – done in Spanish and also translated into English – and the first of our Translators Against the Machine articles translated into Spanish. We've also launched the open call for articles written in Spanish! ¡Compartad libremente con todxs tus amigxs hispanohablantes!
